The cloth that slowly fell down
He told her he liked her
But she thought it was a bit scary
She didn’t dare to admit it yet
She didn’t know how to do it
What is the normal way
But there is no normal way, he told her
There are no rules
We can discover it together
With time, space and trust
That made her feel safe
Slowly she let the cloth that was over her, fall down
Slowly she showed herself
For the first time she dared to fall in love
But she thought it was a bit scary
She didn’t dare to admit it yet
She didn’t know how to do it
What is the normal way
But there is no normal way, he told her
There are no rules
We can discover it together
With time, space and trust
That made her feel safe
Slowly she let the cloth that was over her, fall down
Slowly she showed herself
For the first time she dared to fall in love

OPERATION MARKET GARDEN
How can I show an important historical moment in an accessible way?
I have used different ways to show my image of the war in an accessible way. To show a literal image, but also a kind of fantasy way. How I think everything happens and how it appears according to our word from documentaries, films and books. Through toned cyanotypes on canvas, analogue photography, experiments in the darkroom, collages and film.

IMPRINT
The imprint that clothing leaves on your body.
My clothing marks me without asking.
The imprint shows its absence, a trace that slowly fades.
The imprint shows its presence without being there itself.

What is our body?
Part of nature, which means that it is perfect, precisely as our body is.
In this day and age, a lot of young people feel insecure about their looks and presence. This seems to be the consequence of social media, where they stumble upon examples of bodies that seem to confirm the ‘perfect’ type of body - these are mostly images of people who don’t show their insecurities or imperfections. As a result, these images turn into an ideal to strive for or look up to, especially for young people who are still growing up.

As a result, these images turn into an ideal to strive for or look up to, especially for young people who are still growing up.
However, everyone has their own insecurities, when it comes to their body. I’ve noticed - from my own experience, as within my environment - that a lot of the people I know, don’t talk about this subject, simply because it’s not a ‘usual’ topic of conversation.
I asked a number of people in my personal surroundings and did an open call online, if they felt free to open up to me, and let them get photographed in front of my lens. Afterwards, I compared their photographed ‘insecurities’ with components of nature. This, because the body is in itself part of nature, and many physical features resemble natural specifics.
Which means the body is perfect, the exact way it is.
